While I claim no expertise at all, I have been on both sides of a lot of accountability processes now, and I’ve seen a lot of things fail and a few things succeed. I’ve also had the honor of working with hundreds of men and boys in educational and recovery settings, as well as informally in my communities. From this perspective, I offer limited consulting services on:
- How to think about yourself and your community when you’re being called out/in
- Accountability Process Construction and Implementation
- How to think about masculinity in ways that set everyone up better for health and wellness
- Masculinities and Mens groups (though most of what I’ll say is on this website already.)
Again, I have no training in any kind of social work or psych, I’m just a biology teacher who has stumbled into this field because of the harms that I have caused, and the fact that there are so few people doing this work that somehow I end up on the top of people’s list of options.
For many years, I’ve offered this as a gift to my communities and as part of my own process of accountability. At this point, the volume of requests that I receive exceeds my capacity to continue responding to them all freely. I used my full legal name on this site for years. Recently, a lot of deeply wounded men who follow violent ideologies have felt so threatened by my words in various social media spaces that they have been seeking out me and my family, so I no longer share my name publicly in order to keep my home and family safe.
